DESCRIPTION:The Boulder Stroke & Stride offers Boulder area athletes a fun 1-lap 750 Meter Swim\, or 2-Lap 1500 Meter swim in Boulder Reservoir\, followed by a 5k run on the reservoir dam on 8 Thursday evenings (plus one Wednesday evening) throughout the summer. Many participants make their open-water swimming debut in the beginner-friendly Stroke & Stride 750 meter event\, while more seasoned athletes get the thrill of starting alongside some of the top athletes in the world in the 1\,500 meter swim. 250-400 participants enjoy the Stroke & Stride every week! Kicking off the Winter Races is the Beaver Creek *Skimo/Boardmo and Uphill with over 2\,000 feet of vertical gain from the base of Centennial Lift to Spruce Saddle Lodge. Get those thighs and quads burning as you earn your turns down Latigo. The event will conclude with breakfast and awards at Hawk’s Nest near the base of Beaver Creek. \nRace will consist of skimo\, boardmo\, and uphill. Uphill can be done on skis\, splitboard\, snowshoes\, spikes\, or shoes with tred.

Taylor then\, run an additional 5 miles on a snowpacked gravel road before switching to a pair of skis or a splitboard and ascending 2 miles on a groomed trail while gaining 1\,500’ elevation.  Finally\, racers strap on a pair of snowshoes and trek the final mile to the summit of Mt. Taylor; 5\,400’ higher than where they started. Once stopping to catch their breath at the top\, they turn around and brave the 22 mile stretch again to get back to the finish line.

DESCRIPTION:The Red Hot Relay is DNSC’s annual youth programs fundraiser\, where teams of three take on a lively relay race and just about anything goes. We encourage everyone to jump in\, whether you’re a seasoned skier or brand new to racing. \nTeams complete two ~2km laps around the Nordic Center in a fast-paced\, crowd-cheering format. Glory (and some good-natured heckling) goes to the first team across the line\, but really\, it’s all about supporting our youth programs. \nRace proceeds help make our youth programs possible – contributing to coaching staff\, van expenses\, and other youth program expenses.
