Collegiate Triathlon Conference Championshipscu-tri-team

March 19, 2011 (Lake Havasu, AZ) – It was another successful race in Lake Havasu, Arizona for the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Triathlon Team. The team once again dominated the Mountain Collegiate Triathlon Conference Championships taking the win for men’s, women’s, and combined team scores.

The men’s team blazed past the competition with 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 16th place finishes.  The women’s team posted 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 12th place finishes without teammate Jessica Broderick, the 2009 women’s collegiate champion, competing.

CU bested teams from all over the mountain west plus a debut showing of a competitive West Point team. To keep the ball rolling, the team headed to Tucson for a few days of high intensity training to get ready for the USAT Collegiate Nationals race being held on April 9th in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The CU team will return to nationals as the defending champions.
