Four Colorado Athletes Receive Honorable Mention

February 4, 2010 (Colorado Springs, CO) – USA Triathlon has announced the 2009 Garmin Age Group Athletes of the Year and Accenture Paratriathletes of the Year, an honor awarded annually by the USAT Age Group Commission and the USAT Duathlon Committee. Triathlon and duathlon athletes were selected in various categories, including overall, masters, grand masters and juniors.
Tim Hola, 35, of Highlands Ranch, received honorable mention for Men’s Overall Triathlete of the Year. The top prize in the category went to Chris Thomas, 37, of Easton, CT.
Ellen Hart, 51, of Denver, received honorable mention for Women’s Masters Triathlete of the Year. Linda Robb, 45, of Juno Beach, FL, won the award in this category.
Diane Ridgway, 61, of Arvada, received honorable mention for Women’s Grand Masters Triathlete of the Year. Lauren Binder, 62, of Portland, OR, took the top prize in this category.
Paul Martin, 42, of Boulder, received honorable mention for Men’s Paratriathlete of the Year. The top award in this category went to J.P. Theberge, 37, of Carlsbad, CA.
“These talented athletes displayed fantastic results at races of various distance which set them apart from others,” said Lee Zohlman, co-chair of the USAT Age Group Commission. “We congratulate these athletes on their hard work and dedication and wish them the best in 2010.”
