3K Run/8K Bike/5K Ski
Mike Kloser, trailing US National Snowshoe Champion Josiah Middaugh at the end of the run, made his move on the bike to snag first place in the Winter Triathlon race December 21st. He blasted the 3K Run – 8K Bike – 5K Ski course in 1:01:56. Pete Swenson was second (1:06:35), and Josiah (1:09) held on for a third place finish. Monique Merrill won the women’s race in 1:21:09, with Amber Rydholm taking second place in 1:31:25. Ian Adamson, the consummate competitor, smilingly noted that the “Christmas pounds are causing my bike to sink in the snow.” Join us for the next race in the series on February 8th.

5K Run/10K Bike/8K Ski
Mike Kloser led from beginning to end in the second race of the Winter Triathlon series. He covered the 5K Run – 10K Bike – 8K Ski course in his characteristically focused style, finishing in 1:06:34. Dan Weiland was second (1:09:45), and Andy Lee was third in 1:14:53. Lisa Isom won the women’s race in 1:37:04, with Karen Hogan second in 1:37:48 and Heidi Rader in third at 1:39:30. Conditions were great, with plenty of new snow on the ground and more falling throughout the race. Next – finals on February 29!

Mike Kloser remained undefeated in the Winter Triathlon Series, winning handily on Sunday, February 29th. He led on the 8K Run – 15K Bike – 10K Ski from beginning to end, finishing in 1:24:55. Andy Lee was second in 1:31:01. Lisa Isom won the women’s race for the second time in 1:51:06, with Heidi Rader in second at 1:56:47. Thanks to all participants for a great series!
