Zoller, Gruber Victorious
Lory State Park, CO – June 18, 2016: Without a doubt, Without Limits has established itself as one of the premier race organizing outfits in Colorado. On any given day during the racing season, you are likely to find one of its events on the multisport calendar. This past weekend it was XTERRA Lory outside Fort Collins. The race took place at Lory State Park, featuring a half mile swim in Horsetooth Reservoir’s Eltuk Bay, a 12.2-mile mountain bike on rolling terrain, and a 4.8-mile trail run with a fair amount of climbing.
In the women’s race, Elizabeth Gruber of Colorado Springs won in a time of 1 hour 52 minutes 6 seconds. Megan Riepma of Lafayette took second in 1:53:35, followed closely by Jennifer Razee of Edwards in third in 1:54:56. In the men’s race, Brad Zoller of Avon won in 1:38:15. Nelson Hegg of Boulder finished second in 1:40:17, and Garren Watkins of Boulder rounded out the podium in third with a time of 1:41:09.
