Michael Lovato Tops Pro Field at IRONMAN 70.3 Buffalo Springs; Drew Scott Clocks Fastest Time of the Day

June 24, 2012 (Lubbock, TX) – Boulder athletes Drew Scott and Michael Lovato claimed the top spots in this year’s IRONMAN 70.3 Buffalo Springs. Lovato won the pro division in a time of 4 hours 1 minute 15 seconds, outpacing Joe Umphenour of Colorado Springs who took second in 4:01:42. Racing as an age-grouper, Scott, 22, clocked the fastest time of the day with his 4:01:13 effort. Scott is coming off another win at last week’s 5430 Sprint Triathlon. In the women’s competition, Boulder’s Amanda Lovato (4:38:35) placed fourth in the pro division. Denver’s Ellen Hart, 54, won her age group and finished thirteenth overall (4:51:07).
